Acne Rosacea

Introduction

Rosacea is a chronic skin disorder on inflammation of the cheeks, nose, chin, forehead, or eyelids. It may emerge as redness, prominent spider-like blood vessels, inflammation, or skin eruptions comparable to acne. Although, acne rosacea is not same as teenager acne.

Causes

It is believed that Rosacea is disorders where the blood vessels become damaged when repetitively dilated by stimuli.

Triggers that cause Acne Rosacea

  • Exposure to excessive temperature.
  • Forceful exercise.
  • Severe sunburn.
  • Cold or Moist Air.
  • Sun exposure.
  • Emotional factors (anger, fear, and anxiety).

  • Redness of the face in confined to small areas or covering the entire face.
  • A tendency to flush or blush in easily.
  • A burning or stinging sensation of the face.
  • An enlarged number of spider-like blood vessels (telangiectasia) of the face.
  • A pimple-like skin eruption.
  • Watery eyes with redness.
  • Rhinophyma (red, bulbous nose)

Tips to avoid acute flare-ups

  • Exposure to the sun and to excessive temperatures should be in the limit as much as possible.
  • Smoking, hot drinks, spicy foods, and alcohol may cause flushing and should be avoided.
  • Chocolate and Red wine are two well known Rosacea triggers.
  • Try to reduce stress.
  • Try to do breathing exercises
  • Yoga, Meditation or other relaxation methods.
