Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is a condition where males have unusually enlarged breasts, due to increased production of breast tissues.

Other causes of Gynecomastia

  • Chemotherapy for cancer
  • Marijuana use
  • Deficiency of testosterone
  • Radiation treatment for testicles (testosterone deficiency)
  • Chronic renal failure
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Malnutrition
  • Hormone treatment for testicular cancers
  • Klinefelter's syndrome
  • Trauma
  • Infections
  • Hormones (androgens, anabolic steroids, estrogen agonists)
  • Anti-ulcer medications such as cimetidine
  • Cardiovascular drugs, such as captopril and digitoxin
  • Cancer chemotherapeutics for prostate cancer.

  • Physical examination
